Projects
The funds we collected last year have been used to donate much needed equipment for the various units in the Gozo General Hospital. (See Donations and Loans section).
This year, the FSEG provided an electrically controlled couch specifically designed for the Podology Clinic, a heavy-duty electrically-driven patient hoist for the Female Ward, a floatable Rock Spine Board for emergency/rescue use in the ambulance, and keep-fit sets of equipment for use in occupational therapy of the elderly in Rezidenza Sant'Anna, the Male Elderly Residence and the Psychiatric Wards of the GGH. On 24th July the above, including a complete Gym Set were presented to the hospital through the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Gozo.
In 2009, we are committing more funds for the needs of the sick and the elderly in their own homes, Our first purchase is a patient lifter and two electrically controlled beds to assist family members to care for bedridden patients.  In addition, we shall continue with our ongoing procurement and supply of wheelchairs, crutches, mattresses, etc. and, of course, the Meals-on-Wheels delivery service. We shall also be helping the St. Dominic Home for the Elderly in Victoria, Gozo, which Home is being extended and refurbished.
