Fundraising Activities
The vast majority of members are passive and support the society solely by their membership fee, currently Euro3.00 annually or Euro25.00 for life-membership.
Apart from the monthly committee meetings, the small group of active members organise fund-raising activities, the principal ones being car boot sales, charity fairs, an annual lunch, and an occasional dinner.
"Philanthropic Fairs" and car boot sales are held on the last Sundays of the month, excluding June, July, August and December; they allow people to buy and sell second-hand item, thus recycling objects while helping the FSEG to raise funds.
Through the great generosity of one of our benefactors, Mrs Sonja Sinclair Stevenson-Lindblad, we have also run a number of Art Exhibitions and music recitals by acclaimed pianist Michelangelo Carbonara, which events have contributed significantly in helping us raise funds towards our projects during the last few years. A third piano recital by Signor Carbonara, followed by a super meal at the Kempinski Hotel, San Lawrenz, Gozo is scheduled for 10th March 2012 - a popular event that must not be missed.
During 2009-2011, we have been sponsored by The Rotary Club (Gozo). On 3rd July 2009, the FSEG gratefully received the first financial donation from this organisation. On 31st July, 2010 the Rotary Club Gozo held an Auction Sale in aid of its chosen charities, including the FSEG.
Auctions are rare events in Gozo: so look out for the next one. Watch this space.
Another fundraiser was a "Nostalgia Night" of Music and Art held on Saturday 26th November 2011 at the Ministry for Gozo Exhibition Hall. Ms Rosabelle Pavia (soprano), and Mr Fabio Galea (tenor) sang arias from Opera, Operetta, Musicals and Neapolitan Songs, accompanied by Mr Terry Shaw (piano) and Mr Jason Camilleri (guitar).  Also participating was trumpeter Jason Camilleri and virtuoso chromatic accordeonist Andrew Micallef. There was also a small exhibition of paintings by Mr George Pavia. The presenter was model Katrina (Miss European).Â
COME AND ENJOY beautiful immortal music and have fun with us in all our fundraising events. Â
Philanthropic Fairs
"Turn your unwanted treasures into Cash"
These have replaced the former Car Boot Sales. They are organised by FSEG volunteers to generate funds from: (1) open-air sales by FSEG of items donated by friends, and also (2) donations by the wider public for the use of  spaces for stands or stalls in the fairground.
The Fairs are held at the Victoria Football Ground from 7:00am onwards on the last Sundays of January, February, March, April, May, September, October, November & December.
Active participants should book their space.
Tthe following guidelines must be followed:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
- These Fairs help recycling between people of unwanted items they own and, in so doing, help the philanthropic work of the FSEG;
- The participants must pre-book their space and are expected to donate something to the FSEG;Â
- At the end of each event participants should remove their own material and leave the area free from litter and clean.
- No Commercial traders are allowed to participate; Â
- No lorries, trucks or commercial vans are allowed in the area.
Donors of any items (e.g. books, household goods, bric-a-brac) should contact the FSEG volunteers on Tel. 21553336 or 79553336 to arrange for delivery or collection. Typically we collect items up-to 2 or 3 days before the event to give us time to sort and price them. We thank donors in advance.

THANKYOU!
Without sponsorship, fundraising is an onerous task. We thank all our many Sponsors and Supporters for donating to our causes and events year on year.
Considerable funds are essential for the achievement of certain projects and the "Friends" are very grateful for the generous assistance they get from the Ministry for Gozo, The English-Speaking Catholic Community (Gozo), the Rotary Club (Gozo) and many other benefactors too numerous to name here.
SPECIAL THANKS
In particular we'd like to give special thanks to Ms Sonja Sinclair Stevenson-Lindblad, who has dedicated so much time and effort to raise funds on her own initiative for FSEG and Rotary good causes through organising art shows in her Gallery and prestigious musical evenings at the Kempinski Hotel Gozo on her own initiative.
